My Fun Weekend

I had a really fun weekend :) It started out with no work which was awesome!!! And I had a baby shower that was super fun, an old co-worker was also there and I had a blast catching up with her.
I bought new pillows and super excited to try those out.

My Mom & I went to the movie theatres and we saw the new Percy Jackson Movie which was super fun, not totally like the book but it was a fun movie!
After the movies we got yummy pizza and watched the Diamond Backs game.  Holy smokes the game was 18 full innings!!!  DBacks crushed it in the top of the 18th, winning 12-7!!!

I woke up this morning a little late, and made myself this AMAZING brunch :)  Sausage & Egg Breakfast Burrito with fresh cut fruit and yummy apple juice!  So happy right now.

I went to church and then to my friend Kayla's church - she was the Relief Society Instructor and I went to support her.  It was nice, My ward has been great but I was happy to support my friend.

Josh is on a trip for a facilitator ropes challenge course, he has been gone since Wednesday and I miss him.  BUT I think he is having fun, we were able to talk on Thursday briefly (2 mins) and he said they have a cafeteria that serves Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner so I know he is being taken care of - at least his stomach.

I have jury duty Tuesday, I hope I don't have to show up, and my group gets canceled. Think good thoughts for me!!

Wedding Reception Picture Frames

I have been looking for picture frames to have for mine & Josh's Wedding Reception.  Because we have been dating long distance I have liked having pictures of our of time together up at my apartment.  The ones displayed on the bed are the ones I've accumulated over the last 2 years, replacing old pictures for more current ones. . . And the frames on the dresser I just bought at Walmart super cheap, they are all silver, which is one my wedding colors and I'd love to have more, but I think it will have to be enough.  Plus I have another picture frame at work with us in it that is a two picture that folds on hinges.

I don't know how it will work out, but so far this is what I have decided I'd like at the non-food tables, by the sign in table, gift table, etc. . .

My other wedding plans are going GREAT!!! Finally asked my bishop to officiate the wedding, he said he'd save the date.  I had my wedding invitations meeting this past Wednesday and once I have more precise times to put on the invitations, and how many I would like printed I can get those bad boys out :) I am really excited to see how they look!

The biggees left are food :( and chair rentals.  And some other smaller things. But I still have FOUR MONTHS TO GO!!!!!  Seems like forever, but Josh said the time will go by,plus I will see him in a little bit in September and again end of October :) But it is so nice to have a fair bit of it figured out.

Other than that life is good, we had a beautiful rain storm last night and might get another one tonight, I love the rain when it comes.

DBacks VS Orioles

Monday Night my employer did an Employee Appreciation Night with a Diamondbacks Game, ticket and $5.00 Voucher for food/drink.
It was a fun night, I forget how much I love baseball until I am watching it.  I told Josh we are going to have to support the closest baseball team in CC, they have a AA team the Hooks affiliated with the Houston Astros.

My good friend and co-worker RaeAnna had our feet up to stretch while our friends sitting in front of us went on a food and drinks run.  Love this picture!

Me and my team, there were only a few that stayed till the end of the game, use and my pal Roke who took the picture.  BEST game!!! Diamondbacks won with a walk off home run :)

Crazy though, super messed up my week, to make the game they had us work 8 to 5 p.m. instead of my normal 9 to 6 p.m. and didn't go to bed till after 1 a.m. after the game.  I drank a ton of  Pepsi and Jorge bought me cotton candy at the game - which explains why I couldn't go to bed till after midnight...
It is Tuesday and my throat is hoarse from screaming at the game but so worth it.  Go D-BACKS!

Engagement Ring

I wanted pictures of this to remember my first engagement ring, Josh technically didn't propose with this ring, but when we were trying to decide between sterling silver and white gold Josh brought out some rings he made in a jewelry class.
This ring is the only one small enough to fit my ring finger that Josh made.  I have been wearing it since that night :)
I did meet up with our old Branch President who is a jeweler to make my engagement ring, it should be wonderful!  An antique cushion cut green quartz gem, hallowed by small little diamonds in a white gold setting.  Josh said he would do his best to make our wedding bands.  Josh & I both already agreed that I can't be upset if Josh doesn't wear a ring through our marriage, I don't really care and Josh said he'd rather not with all the outdoor activities he does.  But I did ask that he wear one for the ceremony and reception, pictures, etc. . .

Please forgive the tinker bell band aid.  Sorry.

Close-up :) So pretty!  Josh said it was an assignment design for his class, he did a leaf.

Love my fiance, as of today, according to the countdown my girlfriend emails me every work day we are at 150 days till I GET MARRIED!!!

First Almost Official Bowman Dinner

This Sunday I was invited to my fiance's family dinner, this is the first dinner I am going as his fiance without him.  I was pretty nervous, I don't have his friendly and easy going demeanor.
It was the 3 brothers and their wives and children and the parents.  A good-sized group!!!

I was in-charge of fruit, I brought pineapple, sliced apples, red grapes and raspberries, it didn't look pretty and colorful but I think it tasted nice.  They served yummy burritos, tasty chicken, beans, rice, salsa, the works.  Dessert, Josh died when he found out, was chocolate cupcakes will a brownie filling and a Reese's Peanut Butter cup in the middle.  From the looks of the kids enjoyment, Delicious!!!

It was nice, I was nervous with not having Josh there now that we're officially getting married & I'm now the future daughter-in-law.  BUT I had a good time.  Josh's mom gave some good suggestions for the timing of the ceremony & receptions.  Sarah, I told about the dress I was planning to buy and she asked me to describe it, I described it as a simple bodice that is fitted down past the waist with a puffy skirt with tulle.  She told me that sounded really similar to her dress and asked if I wanted to see it, and said YES, and it was SO SO SO similar to what I was looking at.  She offered to let me use it!! So excited!!! I tried it on and it is only a little too big, the length is only a little too long, she said I was free to make any alterations I need!!

I left their house and showed my Mom.  Turns out it is an unofficial tradition for us to use our sister-in-laws wedding dress.  My mom did, and I forgot Kylene did & now me.

I told Josh and he agreed that we never have known I borrowed it, probably still won't remember, but he is happy I am happy :)

Happy Independence Day

It was so nice to spend the Independence Holiday with my family.  We had spent the evening watching the Diamond Backs game 15 beautiful evenings of baseball for the Dbacks to pull a win :)

Mom made yummy hamburgers with baked beans, fresh fruit and I drank soda!!!

Josh & I got to skype before I left.  I seriously have the BEST fiance.  He texts me everyday, we talk after work, and we even try and skype everyday.  Josh started this new thing last night where we do so many minutes of push-ups (mine are girl style), then sit-ups, yucky wall squats, and some kind of back exercise, not sure what it is called.  Suffice to say I am super sore this morning, like ridiculously sore from the push-ups.
Plus we started reading the scriptures every night together, we are trying to build good habits now before we get married and live together.

I have made zero progress in planning our wedding, like less than zero.  Josh & I really need to buckle down and get a photographer and a caterer.  And then after that will be the invitations, dress alterations, ordering flowers making hair & make-up appointments.

I am grateful for this country, for the men & women who serve to protect my freedoms.
God Bless America!

Bridal Gowns

I never fully appreciated how hard the wedding planning process would be till I hit my own 6 month marker Friday. . .
Suddenly occurred to me, I have LOTS and LOTS to do.  So I immediately made an appointment with David's Bridal so I could find gown styles that looked nice on me.  I found 2 on-line that I thought were very pretty, but they looked very pretty on the models, I wanted to make sure that gown style would be equally flattering on me.
David's Bridal was VERY over-whelming, honestly hundreds of gowns and styles and colors to choose from.  The sales representative was very helpful, and very knowledgeable.  Saturday is their busiest day so she was assisting me and another young woman, I had brought my friend Angela, who was married last October.  Angela was a HUGE help, got me into gowns, out of gowns, wrote down styles I liked.  Perfect :)
Turns out wedding dresses are so heavy.  I was honestly exhausted after an hour.  BUT we found 2 dresses very similar in style to the 2 I found on-line which was very helpful bc I definitely do NOT want a long train.  Good grief, so much extra weight to lug around.  I was also very please bc those 2 styles did look nice on me, I didn't feel they cut me off and made me look more short, and the one other style didn't wash out my "small framed" figure.

Now I just need to contact the company and see what my options are.

I need to make more appointments with photographers.  So far I only have one appointment today with a photographer I was recommended by a co-worker.  I have spoken with her once and think she sounds really great.  Josh said he will ask for recommendations from his married friends so we have can make a more rounded decision.

Last BIG thing I need to do pretty soon is food :(  Need to find a caterer and one fast, need to make a deposit and pray they are still available for Dec 21st!
